Season:
There are two seasons. The first season runs from November-January (Winter Season) and is exclusively folkstyle (college and high school wrestling). The second season runs from February-April (Spring Season) and includes Folkstyle, Freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling. Freestyle and Greco-Roman are Olympic style wrestling. There will be a seperate charge for the second season. We encourage parents to gauge interest level of their child before deciding on the second season.
Practice Schedule:
Wednesday @ Mt. View High School both at 5:30 PM
Tuesday and Thursday @ 6:00 at American Fork High School
What to wear to practice? Athletic shorts and t-shirt. Wrestling shoes are encouraged, but not required. A sports shoe will work. No jeans
Practice Requirement:
Wrestlers will be required to attend two practices each week; however, they are welcome to attend all four practices. The wrestlers will have an advancement system that will allow them to be rewarded for skill development and competition. Two practices a week will be required to advance (see advancement requirements below).
Coaching Staff:
Mt. View Kids Head Coach: Shane Richins
Mt. ViewKids Head Assistant: Nate O'Brien
American Fork Kids Head Coach: Cole Kelley

Cost Breakdown

Here is a review and explanation of the costs:

1-Club Registration Fee- $75 This is the basic registration fee for the club. This includes a dry fit t-shirt and athletic shorts.

2- Singlet- $60 This is a club singlet. It is not required to compete. There are several other options for singlets. We will talk about these options with the parents at the end of one of the first few practices. We will make sure it is announced. This is a custom singlet and is a solid quality. Click Here for a picture of the club singlet. Click to see a picture of the singlet

3- Club Shirt for Parent(s)- $20 Parents that want to show club support at meets and tournaments have the option to purchase the same dry fit t-shirt that their child will wear at wrestling events. You will need to email the size(s) cole@rockymountainwrestling.com

4- USA Wrestling National Card- $37 This will be required for the Salt Lake Slam (not beginners tournament), and all tournaments in the spring season. You are able to buy the local league card (see #5 below) and then upgrade to national card at a later time. The card provides insurance protection at events. You will need a card (National or League) for each boy competing. Your card will be given to you before the first tournament.

5- USA Wrestling Utah League Card- $10 This will be required at tournaments throughout the winter season. The card provides insurance protection at events. You will need a card (National or League) for each boy competing. Your card will be given to you before the first tournament.

6- Tournament Entry- Each tournament charges an entry fee. Generally the fee is $10; however, some of the high level tournaments (Salt Lake Slam and Beehive Brawl) are more expensive.

Is money an issue? There are opportunities to earn many of these costs. Email cole@rockymountainwrestling.com We don't want to eliminate boys from participation because of money.
