My prayers are with their family. I know from personal experience that losing a close loved one at such a young age is heartbreaking. I hope that their family feels the love and support of the wrestling community.

Grant is on the way to an amazing high school and college career! Wow, second in Junior Greco!
Carson ended an incredible career. After being an 8? pound freshman at 103's, he has racked up three state titles and has done incredible on the national and even international scene. I see him becoming a multi All-American at Boise.

Well, that's one of the crazy things that I do any how. Here is how the amount of returning placers per team shakes out (up to teams that have at least 2 returning state placers)
Payson (6)
Box Elder (6)
Maple Mt. (5)
Mt. Crest (4)
Uintah (3)Lehi (3)Tooele (2)Logan (2)The contenders should be similar to last year, although I think that ...

Great article Bulldog. Cannon and Brown were two seniors in particular on Payson's team that illustrated the toughness of Payson as they have surged into the state power that they currently are. In fact credit has to go to their 6 serniors that were state placers this year. Ortiz and Ford finished strong in the consos by taking third and ...

Another great example is Selma California. It is pretty much an entire Latino community. They had 3 state finalists I believe, were 2nd in the state and ranked in the top 20 Nationally. Now this program does have dads and families that have simply been doing wrstling for the past 10 years or so. Their school was not even on the map 10 years ...

That sounds like it could go a long way for our Utah wrestlers. I didn't realize that the money went to help our wrestlers compete at the national level. Maybe there are other coaches like me who are ignorant to this fact.
Well, maybe we could raise that number from 1,000 to 2,000 kids over the next few years...

It has been nice to have Jose at Mt. View. Our Latino population of wrestlers (which was basically non-existent a few years ago) has been steadily climbing. Our 112 pound region champ was a two year wrestler who is Latino. We also had a one year jv Latino wrestler who basically only spoke Spanish. One of our coaches was ...

That is a great observation. One thing I've noticed is that Latino kids are not getting involved in wrestling like they are in these other states. In California there are many areas where Latino families are fully invested in wrestling at a young age...and thus their high involvement at the high school level. I don't know why ...
